Frequently Asked Questions

PRIVATE HIRE

Can You come for a shoot on my resort?

Yes, but each resort will have its own policy regarding this. Some will happily accommodate your request, others may need a little more convincing. Depending on the resort, this may also require food and accommodation. Contact your resort to find out their policy first, but always remember whose holiday it is!

How can you get here?

The key to the Maldives’ idyllic resorts is their privacy. We have 1,192 islands, including around 150 resorts, spread across 90,000 square km. This makes transport the primary logistical issue for resort shoots. Domestic airports are now situated throughout the country, but there is no public transport to private resorts, meaning permission will be required to arrange transport to most resorts (which will need to be covered by the client). Please ask your resort about this.

Who will be taking my photographs?

I usually work alone, and will discuss the need for additional assistance for larger projects before confirming a booking. I understand that many people are more comfortable with a female photographer and take the comfort of my clients very seriously – if you’re not relaxed, we won’t be able to photograph you at your best.

How will the images be delivered?

The final, processed, high-resolution images can be delivered on a secured online drive, or via USB. All files will be delivered in jpeg format; I am unable to provide unedited images or files in RAW file format (sorry).

What kind of packages do you offer?

The specifics of the packages depend on the client, and are best worked out by filling out an inquiry form (below). I can do indoor/outdoor, drone photography and portrait photography for any occasion. I usually charge per hour, though one and a half hours is the minimum time required for a shoot (this would guarantee around 40 finished images).

When will I get my pictures?

For private clients, I like to process and deliver the images as soon as possible, so people can re-live their holiday before the memories start to fade. Pictures will be delivered within one week of the shoot (usually before).

Who retains copyright of the images?

While private clients are free to share and print their images as often as they wish (for non-commercial purposes), the copyright ownership of all photographs remains with Naj.
