Frequently Asked Questions

COMMERCIAL

What experience do you have?

I have worked as a professional photographer in the Maldives for almost a decade (see ‘About me‘ page), producing high-quality event and portrait photography, drone (aerial) photography, interior/exterior, portrait and event photography.

My resort clients have included Amilla Fushi, Shangri La, and Jumeirah; local companies including STO, BML, Ooredoo and Dhiraagu; while my pictures have appeared in numerous international publications including GQ India and Destinasian magazine.

See my ‘projects’ pages for more details of professional experience.

How Big is your team?

Primarily, I work alone on photography projects. However, I am able to call upon a highly experienced and professional network of fellow photographers, graphic designers and other content creators in order to take on larger projects.

Do you only do photography?

No. I have recently started branching out into videography, beginning commercial resort events in 2019. For me, this has been a natural extension of my photography work, and is an area I look forward to exploring further in the new decade.

Additionally, as part of the Two Thousand Isles project, my husband and I have conducted cultural research work in the atolls, collaborating to produce written and photojournalism content. We have also produced full layout designs for print publications (‘projects’ section). Should your project require written content or research, please think of us.

Can I purchase a photograph?

You can a purchase a license agreement for an image, allowing the use of a photograph for a specific purpose or project. More often than not, when you buy an image from a photographer, this is what you are purchasing, with copyright ownership retained by the creator. As a result, the photographer is entitled to photo credits as a matter of course, and such ‘exposure’ cannot be accepted in lieu of payment. Purchasing the copyright of an image - i.e. a ‘full buyout’ - is rare (and expensive).

The price of image license agreements (i.e. the cost of using a photograph) varies depending on the resolution needed, the image itself, the intended use, etc. For example, a billboard advertising campaign for a commercial company would cost more than web-only images required for a non-profit project. Additional use of the image outside of the specified terms would require an additional license.

Please fill out the form below and include as many details as possible if you wish to purchase a license for any image in the portfolio, or request about additional photos I may have on file.

Where are you based?

I am currently based in my home island of Seenu Hithadhoo, which means I can enjoy island life but I’m only ever a short flight away from Male’.
